“All that we are is a result of our thought” – Buddha.

Creating our life experiences from the inside out.

In our modern western societies, the emphasis is often on the having and the doing and little creed given to who we are being. It takes a conscious effort to create space to reflect and just be. Nothing to do. Nothing to wish for. Pure presence and connection with yourself. A space to experience purpose, happiness, peace, contentment, fulfillment, abundance, freedom, joy…

The daily inner struggles to make the best choices for ourselves, the people around us and the planet takes momentous courage and perseverance. It also takes knowledge and awareness. Knowledge of who we are on the deepest level and an awareness of our moment by moment choices.

Floating is an ideal platform to develop self-knowledge and awareness. To support you on this journey, we introduce two powerful concepts during your pre-float check-in: gratitude and intention. We do this with ‘Intention Cards’ that you can reflect on prior to your float and they cover three key elements.

1. Gratitude

As the world’s leading scientific expert on gratitude, Robert Emmons states, “with gratitude we become greater participants in our lives as opposed to spectators”. We are identifying and appreciating the goodness in our lives. As well as, acknowledging the support we have received from others or given to ourselves. As a result of practicing appreciation, the positive effects are broad and significant. Some notable benefits are: building a stronger immune system, improving sleep, increasing joy and pleasure, and building a greater sense of connection. Sounds like floating doesn’t it!?

Once you start looking for things to be grateful for, instead of being taken for granted, simple pleasures become abundant. We believe gratitude is essential for a happy life. One very simple way to cultivate gratitude is with a gratitude journal.

2. Intention

Intention is the starting point of every dream. It has the creative power that fulfils all our needs.

You can consciously choose to set an intention – a guiding principle for how you want to be and show up in the world. Writing down your intention is a powerful way to give focus and purpose to your conscious and subconscious mind. It also opens a portal of trust that ‘it is so’, allowing us to surrender control of the outcome. Knowing that my imagination is a limited beast, I like to let go my intentions by saying “this, or something better”.  In most instances, life turns out better than I could ever have conjured up in my mind.

The other side of intention is the sub-conscious aspect. Whether we set them or not, or know them or not, our intentions will run the show. So, as Gary Zukav, bestselling author of ‘Seat of the Soul’ explains,

“The more aware of your intentions and your experiences you become, the more you will be able to connect the two, and the more you will be able to create the experiences of your life consciously. This is the development of mastery. It is the creation of authentic power.”

3. Affirmation

The third element of the ‘intention cards’ relates to our self-talk. What we continually think about will start to manifest in our lives in some form. So, it makes sense to consider putting our minds on the job of supporting the intention we have. For example, if I had the intention of being more open hearted then I can support that with an affirmation of ‘my heart is open and peaceful’. Then, whenever I slip into the void of the mental chatter I can use this to gently bring me back to the present moment.

So, next time you’re visiting, give yourself the gift of gratitude and intention – take a moment to reflect and fill out an intention card. As you build the muscle you may just start to notice a greater sense of participation and empowerment across your life.

BE UNIQUELY YOU.
